Those are all great points, the best one is the last one of course. Always challenge yourself and never lose track of what other people are doing
It is so important to continue to try new styles or ways of doing things. I like to switch to Fireworks every now and again to challenge myself to design a different way just for the challenge. I find this to be a good experiment in my own design skills.
